AP: Tell us if it’s a novel, book of poetry or other; then what genre it is and why you chose that genre.
EDB: By Chance is a supernatural thriller novel. I’ve always been fascinated by magical realism, and supernatural thrillers and mysteries. I have a natural proclivity to write in this genre.
AP: …a little bit more extensively, what’s your book about?
EDB: When Tara McPherson enters her office Piazza the morning of December fifteenth, destiny stares her in the face. A 187-year-old vision begins the moment her eyes lock with a lurking stranger. Tara was seven when she saw her first premonition. A vision so sinister, she repressed her clairvoyance. Years later, malevolent Tom Spencer enters her life determined to exact vengeance against Alcott Home and Design’s Dream Team—Tara McPherson, Laura Alcott, and Leanne Davis. To save their lives, Tara must overcome her fear and recall repressed visions.
AP: Have you written the book based on your personal life
EDB: By Chance is a work of fiction with no references to real people. Events, establishments, organizations, or locales are intended only to give the fiction a sense of reality and authenticity. Other names, characters, places, and incidents portrayed are a product of the my imagination.
AP: What do you feel about main characters or their circumstances?
EDB: I adore the three female characters in By Chance. Their friendship is enviable. Tara, Laura, and Leanne are three unique and strong women with amazing gifts and unique problems they each have to overcome. I love the strong bond between the three and watching them grow and become who they are meant to be.
AP: What emotions are you essentially seeking to arouse?
EDB: I hope the story evokes suspense, mystery, and a few thrills as the women devise a way to fight their antagonist, and also arouse love for three unique women.
